Finishing Coat to a Floated Background

The floating coat must be checked to make sure the surface is flat before applying the finishing coat. Any little lumps will be removed using a trowel. Internal angles that have been floated are cut out and cut back from angles.

Water is poured into a clean bucket and the finishing plaster is added until all the water has been soaked up. Then, the plaster is mixed either by a drill or by hand.

An even coat of the mix should be applied by a finishing trowel.
