One board should be fixed to the wall at a time after cutting 15mm less to the height of the room. Then you should apply adhesive around the perimeter of the wall and openings using a trowel.
The dry lining should start so that cut edges are at internal angles. The cut edges could also be at the side of doors or windows. Adhesive dabs should then be applied roughly 50- 75cm wide. The dabs should not be any closer than 25mm to the board edge. They can be placed on the centre and a continuous strip of adhesive at the skirting line should be applied. This means that there will now be 3 lines of adhesive.
The plasterboards must then be placed on top of the dabs while the bottom edge is resting on some old plasterboard strips.
A straight edge should be used to nudge the plasterboard back until it lines up with the markings on the ceiling and floor.
A foot lifter can then be used to lift up the board against the ceiling. More strips can then be used to wedge the board in place, making sure the board does not slide down. This whole process can then be completed until the whole wall/area is complete.
To stop air movement, a band of adhesive should be placed around the walls. To improve thermal installation, and gaps between the background and bricks will need to be filled.
