Materials for Dry Lining

Tapered edge boards, 9.5mm or 12.5 mm thick, 900mm or 1200mm in width can be used if you are dry lining by direct bond.

There are various types of jointing materials, some are pre-mixed, others are powder that need mixing. These materials are all gypsum so that they set quicker when hand taping and jointing. They can also be lime based.

There are several categories that jointing materials fall in to.

Setting material is used to fill in joints between boards, is applied by hand and will set on its own.

Air drying material can be used as a filler and applied in thin layers by hand or a machine specifically for jointing.

Part setting and part air drying materials can be used for two stage applications and is a mixture of setting materials and air drying materials.
