Storage/Handling of Casts
Storing and handling casts is very important, they should always be protected and handled carefully when removed from the moulds.
Casts should always be stored as flat as possible. Wet casts will take the shape of whatever they are laid on so make sure you lay it on a smooth surface. Cornices can be stored up against a scaffold board that is resting on a wall. Casts should always be covered to protect them from any damage and should be tied to the scaffold board so that they do not fall.
Fibrous plaster casts should be light to handle while still being strong.
