The trowel, trowel setting system is two applications, not two coats. Each trowelful should overlap the previous one, making sure that the overlap is not too thick. Immediately after this coat is finished, a second application can be applied using the same material 1mm thick. When the second application has picked up, you can start the trowelling process. This means going over the entire the surface at least twice with a wet trowel. On the last trowel, you must splash clean water onto the wall in front of each stroke until you get a matt finish.
